Fisher says goodbye to ‘honourable tradition of central banking’
Dallas Fed president delivers last speech before standing down
Richard Fisher described working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas as "the most meaningful experience of my professional life" last week, as he delivered his last speech before standing down this month.
He talked about the value of public service and compared his spell at the Dallas Fed with golf when it was predominantly an amateur sport, when it was "played by decent men simply for the honour of serving the game".
