People: IMF names new deputy; Brazil in line for two as well
Central Bank of Ireland names new director of policy and risk
United States: Christine Lagarde intends to appoint Mitsuhiro Furusawa, a former special adviser to the prime minister and minister of finance of Japan, as a deputy managing director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Managing director Lagarde announced the move yesterday. Furusawa will replace Naoyuki Shinohara in the post, when he leaves the institution at the end of February.
