Bundesbank president cautions against central bank shift into politics
Deutsche Bundesbank president Jens Weidmann has cautioned eurozone central bankers to be wary of taking politically motivated decisions and reassert their independence. He wants them to stick to purely fiscal measures.
The German central bank official made the remarks in an address at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London today.
Through the rescue mechanism, eurozone members are "changing the rules of the game in the monetary union and that could lead to problems
