Esma under pressure on Emir implementation
The lack of clear implementation timelines and the asset classes covered by new central counterparty (CCP) clearing for the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (Emir) remains a major concern for market participants, following a public hearing last week on draft technical standards published in February.
The hearing was hosted in Paris on March 6 by the European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma), which is responsible for drafting and implementing technical standards under Emir. As
