Solvency II may face delay as European Parliament scrutinises ‘Omnibus’ directive
A further delay to a key vote in the European Parliament on the Omnibus II directive has increased concerns that Solvency II's implementation in 2014 could be delayed.
The European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (Econ) was due to vote on the so-called ‘Omnibus II directive' on January 24, but the vote now looks set to be postponed for the second time in the past month. A new date has yet to be confirmed, but there are suggestions it will take place by the end of March.
