Blanchflower blasts BoE’s forecasting record
David Blanchflower, a former member of the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and a professor at Dartmouth College, on Thursday attacked the Bank of England's forecasting record, after it issued its latest projections of the UK economy.
The Bank's November Inflation Report, published on Wednesday, forecasts inflation to fall from 5% in November to well below its 2% target by the end of 2012, under its central projection. The Bank has also downgraded its 2012 central forecast for growth from
