Former Kenyan deputy governor passes away
Hezron Nyangito, 54, passed away in Nairobi on Wednesday. He was retired on medical grounds from his position as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Kenya just last week.
The former deputy governor had battled with health problems since he was appointed to the role at the central bank in 2008.
Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki announced on October 24 that the then deputy director of the debt management department at the Ministry of Finance, Haron Sirima, was to be the new deputy governor.
