Bank’s Fisher optimistic on winding down crisis facilities
Paul Fisher, the executive director of markets at the Bank of England, on Thursday said evidence of improvements in market liquidity conditions supported the central bank's decision to begin unwinding some of its crisis liquidity measures.
In a paper summarising recent discussions with a range of market contacts, Fisher said conditions in the secondary and repo markets had "improved significantly" since the financial market seizure beginning in 2007, and that he now expected banks to generate
