New Korea governor emphasises cooperation, but says independence “crucial”
Kim Choong-soo, on Tuesday named the Bank of Korea's new governor, has said he regards the central bank's independence as "crucial", but noted that he would collaborate closely with the government.
Some analysts regard the appointment of Kim, now the country's representative as the OECD, as a hindrance to the central bank's autonomy.
