Longworth praises Canada’s astute liquidity management

The Bank of Canada had been "innovative and nimble" in its management of liquidity facilities during the crisis, David Longworth, a deputy governor of the Bank of Canada, said mid-February.

"In this period of winding down our temporary facilities, we acted deliberately and thoughtfully, for example, by providing advance notice and by only gradually reducing both the amounts and the frequencies of the auctions," he said.
