Czech’s Tuma to become next EU commissioner?
Zdenek Tuma, the governor of the Czech National Bank, could become the country's next European Union commissioner.
Tuma, who has almost one-and-a-half years to run on his current term, was nominated for the role of commissioner by Jan Fischer, the Czech Republic's prime minister at the weekend.
However, other members of the country's ruling coalition are thought to be keen on other candidates such as Vladimir Spidla, the current commissioner, and Alexandr Vondra, the vice premier for European
