Romanian central banker nominated as premier
Lucian Croitoru, an adviser to the governor of the National Bank of Romania, is set to become the country's next prime minister.
Traian Basescu, Romania's president, nominated Croitoru on Thursday following political turmoil in the eastern European state. The country's coalition government has crumpled in recent weeks following a minister's sacking and Emil Boc, the former prime minister, was ousted last week.
