South African Reserve Bank governor Tito Mboweni was robbed at an Oaklands garage in Johannesburg last Sunday afternoon. Reported in the local press, four armed men got away with Mboweni's cellphone and items from six other customers. Mboweni and two Swaziland citizens were ordered to put their hands in the air. When the robbers could not open the safe, they ran away. No shots were fired and nobody was injured.
