BoJ's Fukui says markets saw 'healthy correction'

Bank of Japan governor Toshihiko Fukui said on Tuesday 20 March the central bank will closely monitor global equity markets for further developments, but stressed that the recent worldwide sell-off has been a "healthy correction."

"In one word, we understand that the recent development on the global capital markets, including stock markets, are within the scope of a healthy correction," Fukui told a press conference after the conclusion of a two-day policy board meeting.

"But we will watch closely
