Swiss rates on hold

The Swiss National Bank kept its key interest rate unchanged and repeated that it could intervene to stop an appreciation of the Swiss franc.

"Despite very low interest rates in the money market the National Bank has still effective measures (to fight a strengthening Swiss franc)," the SNB said in its quarterly monetary policy assessment

The SNB reiterated that one of these measures would be intervention in the currency market.
