Zimbabwean inflation soars to 11.2m%
The Central Statistics Office, the government's statistics bureau, announced the surge on Tuesday. Economists have in the past claimed that official estimates have grossly underestimated actual inflation.
The news comes after Gideon Gono, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, called for a wage and price freeze.
