NEWS RELEASE - Financial Sanctions: Afghanistan (Taliban and Usama Bin Laden), 28 January 2002.

Following a decision of the United Nations Security Council, the following entities have been removed from the consolidated list of entities/individuals associated with the above sanctions.

The entities concerned are:

Afghan Export Bank

Agricultural Development Bank of Afghanistan (ADB), United Kingdom

Banke Millie Afghan (a.k.a. Afghan National Bank; a.k.a. Bank E. Millie Afghan), Jada Ibn Sina, Kabul, Afghanistan, and any other offices of Banke Millie Afghan

Export Promotion Bank of Afghanistan

Note to Editors

The four banks were initially listed by the Bank of England on the following dates: Banke Millie Afghan - 3 May 2000, Agricultural Development Bank of Afghanistan (ADB) - 23 February 2001, Afghan Export Bank - 10 October 2001 and Export Promotion Bank of Afghanistan - 2 November 2001.
