US needs global payments standards, says industry
Should the US adopt international standards in its domestic payment systems? Surprisingly, "yes" was the overwhelming answer at a packed Sibos, Nick Carver, editor of SPEED, writes from Boston.
Over 80% of the audience said that the US should move its system to international standards that would allow links with other national systems. Only 2% said that the needs of global corporates are adequately serviced by the current model.
