Governor adds that foreign reserves remain frozen as Trump vows ‘economic D-day’ against country
The governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran has said the country’s oil exports have fallen to zero and that funds promised under a ceasefire agreement with the US have not been released.
Speaking in a televised interview on August 19, Abdolnaser Hemmati said it was “a reality that we are not exporting oil”, before adding: “I also spoke with the Iraqis and Qataris; their revenues from oil sales have fallen to zero. The same has happened to us.”
