Venezuela to sell 15 tonnes of gold to UAE, reports say

US senator warns of sanctions if UAE co-operates with Maduro regime

Venezuela’s government plans to sell 15 tonnes of gold from its international reserves to the United Arab Emirates for euros, the news agency Reuters reported.

The regime led by Nicolás Maduro intends to sell a total of 29 tonnes to the UAE in February, according to an anonymous senior official quoted by the news agency. The operation started on January 26 with the transfer of three tonnes, the official source says.
