Bolivia has received its second major financing package from an external organisation since Rodrigo Paz became president in November.

In a statement on January 13, the Washington-based Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) said it had agreed a $4.5 billion “support package” for the country.

The programme, which will be active from 2026 to 2028, aims to “support the new government’s ambitious reform agenda to stabilise the economy, restore growth and expand job creation”, the statement added.
