Commercial value must drive digital asset adoption – Mills

BoE’s executive director for FMI says bank will not pick winning token, ledger or business model

When it comes to digital innovation in finance, the Bank of England will remain agnostic about which technologies industry chooses to pursue, the bank’s executive director of financial market infrastructure has said.

In a speech on October 1 outlining how the BoE would continue to support responsible innovation when it came to digital assets, Sasha Mills said industry must “identify propositions that solve genuine problems and make the investments needed to realise them”.

She added that the bank
