ECB and SNB explore linking payment systems
Feasibility study will run through 2026, central banks say
The European Central Bank and the Swiss National Bank (SNB) are exploring linking their instant payments systems.
The ECB announced on September 29 that it was working with the SNB to create a link between its own Target instant payments settlement (Tips) platform and the Swiss Interbank Clearing Instant Payments (Sic IP) system. It added that experts from the two banks would also explore the technical and legal implications of the project.
In its own statement, the SNB said the central banks
