Nexus will connect at least three Asian countries by 2027 – CEO

Company expects to announce winning bidder for contract to build payments platform by year’s end

Nexus – a platform that aims to link the fast payment systems of Asian countries representing around a fifth of the world’s population – will connect at least three jurisdictions by mid-2027, the new CEO of its operating company tells Central Banking

Andrew McCormack was appointed late last month as the inaugural CEO of Nexus Global Payments (NGP), a not-for-profit incorporated in Singapore in April.  

Work on Nexus began in 2021 by a team operating under the Bank for International Settlements
