Zimbabwe’s central bank has suffered a “technical challenge” that caused outages in various banking services, including the main settlement system.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) on August 18 reported the technical challenge on its social media platforms. It said the issue had been “affecting most systems and may result in delays in some banking services”.

The issue was resolved in the evening of August 19, the RBZ said in a follow-up social media post.
