Iran’s central bank yesterday (May 12) launched the second phase of the connection between its Shetab payment system and Russia’s Mir system. This will enable Russian visitors to Iran to use their bank cards to conduct transactions with local businesses.

The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran said local sellers would be able to use an Android mobile application called MirPay to accept payments from Russian nationals.
