Norges Bank considers joining T2

Norwegian central bank says it anticipates deal could be reached this year

Norway’s central bank is considering joining the European Central Bank’s T2 settlement system.

Norges Bank said on February 4 that it was entering a formal dialogue with the ECB to iron out the details, especially those related to security and contingency arrangements, before making its decision.

The ECB said in a statement on February 6 that it welcomed the decision and was ready to facilitate the process.

In a statement, Norges Bank said it was evaluating two scenarios. The first would involve
