BoE report sheds light on Covid market operations

A new in-depth report on market operations published by the Bank of England reveals some of the challenges the central bank faced during the opening stages of the Covid-19 crisis.

The BoE’s balance sheet expanded rapidly in March 2020, as the central bank relaunched its asset purchase programmes, conducted additional liquidity operations and brought new liquidity facilities online.
