China unveils targeted rate cut and mortgage subsidies
PBoC eases policy for infrastructure lenders and ups support for tech innovation
China has rolled out a range of measures to expand lending for infrastructure projects, housing, technology enterprises, and small to medium-sized businesses that its central bank says will support the economy.
The People’s Bank of China and other government agencies jointly announced on September 29 that they would cut lending rates for major national banks, subsidise housing loans, and enlarge re-lending quotas for commercial banks. The measures came after an extended downturn this year in
