BoT says impact of Iran war less severe than expected but growth still ‘low and uneven’

Thailand’s central bank held rates today (June 24) as expected, with economists predicting an extended pause.

Don Nakornthab, the secretary of the bank’s monetary policy committee, said via a release that the Bank of Thailand (BoT) had voted unanimously to keep rates at 1%. Nakornthab said the bank expected inflation to rise and that although the BoT had revised its growth projections upwards, growth would remain “low and uneven”.
