BoK leaves policy rate unchanged
Economists predict South Korean central bank will hold at 2.5% for remainder of year
The Bank of Korea held monetary policy steady today (January 15) as economists predicted that the central bank would remain on hold for the remainder of the year.
BoK governor Rhee Chang-yong said South Korea’s economy was expected to continue to grow at a pace close to 1.8%, extending an economic recovery that began in the second half of November.
Rhee said inflation was expected to stabilise as the economy grew, as some risks to financial stability remained. He noted that the effect of US tariff
