Chile lowers rates by 25bp to 4.5%
Central bank makes second cut of 2025 as inflation nears 3% target
The Central Bank of Chile (BCCh) has lowered its policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.5%, as inflation slows towards the bank’s 3% target.
The BCCh said in a statement on December 16 that its board had voted for the decision unanimously. The cut was its second this year, after it had eased policy in July.
