Paraguay cuts rates to 0.75%


The Central Bank of Paraguay’s monetary policy committee lowered interest rates by 50 basis points to 0.75% on June 22.

In a statement, the monetary policy committee notes economic activity dropped significantly in April, with a further decline expected in May’s figures.

The central bank also says inflation is expected to continue to decline. It may now drop below the lower limit of the central bank’s target range of 2–6%.
