Brazil’s inflation forecasts send mixed messages for monetary policy

‘Market’ forecast suggests there is limit to monetary easing, central bank minutes show

Bank of Brazil publishes latest monetary policy meeting minutes, shedding light on inflation forecasts

The Central Bank of Brazil has two possible paths for monetary policy, according to minutes from its latest monetary policy meeting published on October 26.

At the meeting, the bank's monetary policy committee analysed its forecast for inflation under different scenarios. Under the 'reference' scenario, the evolution of inflation indicated there was room for a "gradual and moderate easing" of monetary policy.
