SNB to publish minutes of policy meetings in transparency push

Summaries of discussions will put Swiss central bank in line with its global peers

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) is to begin publishing summaries of the discussions during future monetary policy meetings, in a move towards greater transparency and the international norm.

Martin Schlegel, who heads the central bank, announced on September 10 that the SNB would publish the summaries four weeks after rates decisions had been made.

The change, he added, would take effect following the next quarterly meeting of the bank’s governing board on September 24–25.
