Colombia: IMF sees room for a looser monetary policy from the central bank

The Central Bank of Colombia needs to improve the communication of its policy measures as markets have received unexpected interest rate cuts over the last year, staff from the International Monetary Fund have said.

The fund published the conclusions of its Article IV mission to the country on March 5, indicating the central bank may still have space to loosen financial conditions as annual inflation falls to its 3% target, within a range of plus or minus one percentage point.
