RBA looking to handle uncertainty better, says Debelle
Deputy governor speaks on the uncertainties in forecasting
Australia’s central bank is changing the way it presents forecasts so as to avoid creating a false impression of precision, according to deputy governor Guy Debelle.
In remarks to a group of economists in Sydney on October 26, Debelle spoke on the topic of uncertainty, saying it is one of the few certainties in monetary policy decision-making.
