Jordan leaves key rate unchanged for fourth consecutive meeting

Most sectors of domestic economy operating normally despite conflict in region, says IMF

The Central Bank of Jordan left its key interest rate unchanged at 5.75% today (July 30), a level it has maintained since December.

In a statement on social media, the bank said the open market operations committee had assessed the kingdom’s economic performance as sound and its monetary indicators as strong. The bank highlighted its own foreign exchange reserves as foremost among these indicators, noting that they had risen to $26.1 billion at the end of June. This was an increase of $4.1
