Israel continues easing cycle following US-Iran ceasefire

Improved inflation outlook and strong currency mean further cuts are likely, expert says

The Bank of Israel on July 6 lowered its policy rate by 25 basis points for the second time in a row, citing the US-Iran ceasefire deal and its impact of energy prices. The cut takes the policy rate from 3.75% to 3.5% – its lowest level since 2022 – and contrasts with the broad global trend towards monetary tightening since the Middle East conflict began in late February.
