Lagarde ‘regrets’ forward guidance and Warsh plans ‘family fight’

The European Central Bank’s annual conference in the Portuguese resort of Sintra saw Christine Lagarde, Kevin Warsh, Andrew Bailey and Tiff Macklem discuss inflation, monetary policy, forward guidance, artificial intelligence, stagflation and central bank independence.

Regret over forward guidance

The moderator, CNBC’s Sara Eisen, tried repeatedly to get any indications of where interest rates in Canada, the eurozone, the UK or the US would move.
