Miran accuses FOMC members of alienating conservatives

‘Singling out one set of policies’ can make conservatives ‘feel they’re opposed to them’, said Miran

Federal Reserve governor Stephen Miran said his colleagues at the Fed had been showing bias that alienated conservatives in the US.

“Singling out one set of policies can make a group of people in this country feel they’re opposed to them,” he said, in a speech on October 15.

Chair Jerome Powell is a registered Republican but other current and former members of the Fed board have served with Democratic administrations. The Fed has also previously championed some policies of the Democratic party
