Central bank says it considered inflation and uncertain global outlook when making decision

Bank Indonesia (BI) has kept its policy rate unchanged, in line with expectations.

The central bank today (June 18) left the seven-day reverse repurchase rate at 5.5% following a board meeting. It said that when making its decision it had taken into consideration inflation forecasts for this year and next, and high levels of uncertainty about the global economy.

BI also kept its overnight deposit and lending rates at 4.75% and 6.25%, respectively.
