European Central Bank reduces rates by 25bp

Lagarde hints at pause in next meeting, dispels rumours about early departure

The European Central Bank continued to ease policy today (June 5) with a 25 basis point cut.

The bank’s deposit facility rate has thus been changed to 2%, while its main refinancing operations rate and marginal lending facility rates stand at 2.15% and 2.65%, respectively.
