
Georgia and Armenia hold rates
Central banks in both Caucasus nations point to risks of inflation resulting from US tariffs

The central banks of Georgia and Armenia have held their key policy rates.
The National Bank of Georgia today (May 7) maintained the key rate at 8% as inflation slowed to 3.4% in April, down from 3.5% in March.
The Central Bank of Armenia kept its refinancing rate at 6.75% yesterday, after inflation dropped to 3.2% in April from 3.3% in March.
Both institutions pointed to the turbulence in international trade emanating from tariffs, which they said had increased the risk of inflation.
