RBA’s Bullock says economic activity is stronger than expected

Australian central bank sees second-round effects as businesses pass cost rises on

The Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) governor Michele Bullock said today (November 28) that economic activity was stronger than expected, despite tighter monetary policy.

“We have been surprised by a little bit on the strength of activity recently,” Bullock sad. Services inflation has remained “quite sticky” in Australia, she told an event organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Bank for International Settlements.
