CPI inflation cools slightly in the US

Headline and core inflation reach relative lows in May

Inflation

Year-on-year consumer price index (CPI) inflation in the US fell to 4% in May, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said on June 13. It represents the lowest reading since mid-2021.

April’s figure was 4.9%, at the time the smallest 12-month increase since April 2021.
