Banque de France governor says higher core inflation indicates widespread pressures
The eurozone faces the risk of entrenched inflation, according to Banque de France governor François Villeroy de Galhau in a speech in New York on April 11.
This risk was due to higher core inflation, he stressed. The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco rose year on year by 5.7% in March.
