Riksbank to focus on liquidity against Covid-19

Stefan Ingves: “maintaining the supply of liquidity is the most important thing”

The Sveriges Riksbank is focusing on making sure banks and companies enjoy ample access to liquidity to deal with the negative impact of Covid-19.

In a hearing on monetary policy before the parliamentary committee on finance, governor Stefan Ingves and deputy governor Anna Breman acknowledged today (March 10) that Covid-19 “will unavoidably have negative effects on economic activity”.
