Riksbank may publish several overnight rates from 2020

As in other jurisdictions, new rate would be based on reported transactions from counterparties

Sveriges Riksbank may publish one or more overnight reference rates starting in 2020, the Swedish central bank said on September 26.

The aim would be to better assess the implementation of monetary policy, while providing an independent and reliable benchmark for market participants. Additionally, one of the rates could also act as an alternative reference rate in Swedish kronor. These would be a public alternative to the private Stockholm Interbank Offered Rate (Stibor).
