Dollarisation is making monetary policy ineffective, Cambodian central bank says

As the Cambodian financial system has developed, high dollarisation has made monetary policy implementation "ineffective", a statement from the nation's central bank has said.

Published on January 10, the central bank said dollarisation was a risk to the economy, preventing monetary policy from protecting against external shocks. It is trying to encourage wider use of the domestic currency instead.
